Framed
Jake Griffin, head of the Willow Springs Police Department, has a new case that matches a string of unsolved burglaries targeting the upper class of their small but bustling city. This elusive art thief has never left a shred of evidence for him and his partner to follow, and eventually all the cases go cold. As he’s working out a plan of attack for the case, he encounters Alexis Lee, a sassy and confident woman who captures his attention at first glance.
But Alexis, top psychiatrist for the children of the city’s elite, has a secret. Growing up wealthy in the town is not all it’s cracked up to be, and the children confide in her tales of neglect and mistreatment. Hitting the parents where it hurts, Alexis avenges her patients by targeting their most precious possessions. Her heists are something of legend, and for the last five years she’s gone undetected.
After her latest heist goes horribly awry, Jake and Alexis’s secrets come out and they must team up to discover what happened. All signs point to Alexis, and Jake’s partner is closing in fast. Together, the pair must uncover who would want to bring her down, and why? This inspection opens Jake’s eyes to the workings of the white-collar criminal world, and forces Alexis to confront her past failings. Can the two manage to overcome the hurdles their relationship is facing because of who they are and what they do, or will Jake still be forced to bring her in for the crimes she has committed?
